The history of mankind is a story of unsuccessful experiments, trials and tribulations. Man produces a concept and gives it a trial and after centuries of dreadful conflicts, bloodshed and wars it comes to the conclusion, that the concept he had produced was wrong. Then he brings forth a fresh concept which is generally opposite to the previous one and thus begins fresh experiments on it. That also proves unsuccessful after passing through the same unfortunate events. The life of man, political, social and economic has reached the present stage after passing through a series of such vicious cycles.

When the beastly practice of Autocratic and Theocratic ruling reached its zenith, some western thinkers originated the idea that in order to eliminate the misery of mankind, the system of government should be based on the mutual contract of the people.  Thus the theory of "Social Contract" was introduced by Hobbes and Locke.  But Rousseau (1712-1778) gave it the practical shape.  He said that every man wants freedom but that is an impossibility.  Thus, let every individual person allow his/her "will" to get absorbed into the will of the society. In other words, make the general will of the society the ultimate source of authority.  Theoretically it appeared to be a good idea but the difficulty arose in putting the general will of the people into practice. It was not possible to determine the will of every individual in a society. It was thus decided to base the form of government on the epresentatives of the people, and if opinion differ the decision of the majority be accepted.

Our conclusion is that the democratic parliamentary government is a deception and a most wasteful regime in which the achievement of a small group people is to make fools of a larger group of people in a society; because opinion is something that can easily be guided or modified. See the latest example of Pakistan & India where one can easily find that 51% are satisfied but what about the remaining 49% ?

Social ProblemsBy: Nawaz | 21/02/2009 | News & Society
I would like to draw the attention of the guys of the Holy Quran to a few social problems creeping clandestinely in our society. It is due to miscommunication of life style, of values of life to live with on this planet. This miscommunication prevails throughout our society: in the family, in the community, between management and employees, between financial world and the Ministry of Finances, between government and people.

How Individuals Become a CommunityBy: Nawaz | 14/02/2009 | Religion
Many individuals come together to make a community. An Islamic life is to live as a community. To stay dispersed and to pursue ones own advantages and self-interest is not the life of the Muslim, who has submitted to God. The question now arises: how can different individuals become one single community? How can separate Muslims be woven into the single fabric of an Islamic community?

Introduction to the QuranBy: Nawaz | 07/02/2009 | Religion
Every book begins with a preface which is meant to introduce briefly the object as well as the subject matter of that book. The most appropriate preface is the one which is very brief and at the same time comprehensive. The fist chapter of the Quran is known as which means that it is an introduction to the Quran.

Islamic System - DeenBy: Nawaz | 31/01/2009 | Religion
Basic misconception in this regard is that Deen (islamic system) is thought to be no more than an ethical code. Deen is not the collection of a few moral values, it is a comprehensive system of life covering all aspects of human life. The moral values become operative within this system, or in other words this system provides that sound base on which the edifice of these moral values is established.

Islam Orders Defence of WeakBy: Nawaz | 24/01/2009 | Religion
Islam also allows fighting for the help of the oppressed. ?And why should you not fight in the cause of Allah and those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)? Men, women and children whose cry is: ?Our Lord?! Rescue us from this town where people are oppressors and raise for us from thee one who will help.? (4:75). Evil consorts evil The good have all the more reason for drawing together by not only living in mutual harmony, but also by being ready at all times to protect each other.

Impetus of Religious SectarianismBy: Nawaz | 17/01/2009 | Religion
The cause of this sectarianism and factionalism was not the phenomenon that they were mistaken in understanding the reality of Deen (Islam), nor is the fact that any itemremained doubtful, obscurant and ambiguous to them. In true Islam doubt, suspicion, and ambiguity have nothing to do with the knowledge which Allah Almighty (God) has revealed. This sectarianism used to balk for satisfying the lust of power and authority.

Why PakistanBy: Nawaz | 10/01/2009 | Politics
movement? Why did a vast majority of Muslims support the idea of Pakistan and why did a majority of the Islamic scholars (Ulema) oppose it? These are the questions which have been debated ever since Pakistan came into existence. In this 50th anniversary of Pakistan, while celebrating its golden jubilee, it is equally important to look back and give some thought and reflect upon these questions.

Question About PrayersBy: Nawaz | 03/01/2009 | Religion
A simple conventional answer may be that we pray because our forefathers have been praying and told us to pray, this is exactly as we tell our children to pray. Traditionaly we pray because God has asked us to pray. But for many people who are sincerely searching for a more meaningful answer this may not be satisfactory. First of all God has given us freedom of choice for everything including prayers, so we do not have to pray if we do not want to.
