The war against Taliban inside Pakistan has once again started with full force.

Since months the Taliban issue was riding on the nerves of the Pakistani nation. Their name has become very well known to the whole world now as a brutal, inhuman and mad group which is busy in cutting throats, beating women, blowing schools and torching shrines in the name of Islam.

For the last decade, Taliban were confined to Afghanistan only and their control over major parts of that country was on the same pattern as it was achieved territories like Swat and much of FATA (Federal Administered Tribal Areas). Their main tactic was terrorizing the residents with their looks, their weaponry and their strict obedience to their own brand of Islam. Their prime target was woman and their ill treatment to females caused them the most hated people around the world. Most disappointing was the maligning and misrepresenting the true religion of Islam which created lot of confusion among the world community about this religion in particular. For quite sometime people of Pakistan were seeing Taliban inside Afghanistan as a teeth breaking force giving tough time to the NATO and US Soldiers in particular. But it was never expected that Taliban would create such a panic on the Pakistani soil. Ideologically, their actions inside Pakistan could not be justified by any means. There was no occupation of foreign force over here, there was no violation of Sharia Rule and most importantly the Shariah Courts were there functional throughout Pakistan.  However, there was a growing concern that Militants and many groups functional inside Afghanistan operating resistance against the occupation of US had links and allegedly had bases inside the Areas like FATA.

It was mostly understood that some elements inside ISI were involved in nurturing those forces to build up resistance against US and Allied forces, however, the actions of these forces inside Pakistan negates the charge on the Pakistani Spy Agency. Pakistan since Russian Invasion on Afghanistan never thought seriously to completely insulate its borders with its western neighbor. Although the porous border was much needed to ensure the supply and aid to the Mujahideens fighting against USSR, but after the exit of Russians, it was very much needed to act seriously to seal the borders to avoid illegal movement. This was not done may be due to the fact that people of Afghanistan and Pakistan?s western provinces opposed that as they had tribal and ethnic ties with the people of Afghanistan. It was also very much on the cards of Pakistani Government to create and undeclared confederation with Afghanistan and enter the Market of Central Asian Nations who had achieved independence from USSR at that time. Unfortunately, the peace never returned to Afghanistan where rival groups begin to fight each other to capture their piece of land. The situation was again turning worse and it was much needed to gather a unified force to tackle these small groups. It is believed that ISI with the help of Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman created Taliban to defeat small groups inside Afghanistan who were creating trouble in that country. The plan worked according to the desire and Taliban took the control of Afghanistan in a very short period.

It was a big achievement that Afghanistan finally experienced the peace. However, it was experienced that Taliban took a different route to ensure peace in the country. In the name of Sharia strict laws were imposed inside Afghanistan. The worse hit were the women who were barred from education, confined to homes, forced to take veil and were beaten and executed barbarically on minor charges. Gradually, their actions came into notice of the people around the world and international community and human rights activist raised strong voice against the actions of Taliban. Pakistan had great influence over Taliban at that time, it must be accepted that it was a very strong mistake at the end of Pakistani Government that enjoying such an influence they could have controlled the actions of Taliban and would have brought them to the mediocre level in accordance with true spirit of Islam. There was even greater responsibility of USA which left the matters in Afghanistan to be handled by Pakistan alone which was economically not a strong country to handle the matters of Afghanistan. It was very much needed to disarm the war groups inside Afghanistan after Russian exit and the world should have finished the job completely in that country to ensure future peace.

Coming back to the problem of Taliban inside Pakistan, their support in the heart of the people of Tribal areas is long lost. Right now they are alone, they are being beaten everywhere inside the troubled FATA region. Wars can only be won through local support which Taliban in Pakistan missing very much. It is now needed that people should support Pakistani Army and Government should also take this matter to its ultimate conclusion. We the people of Pakistan salute our brave soldiers who are sacrificing their lives for the sake our security and peace. May Allah grant success to our soldiers who are actually fighting against a great ?Fitna? (Division in Islam) that is breaking the wall of our country?s sovereignty and the integrity.

It is now strongly needed that Pakistan should strengthen the system of border patrolling and insulating them completely to avoid any influx and movement of terrorists and enemies of the nation. Record of inter city movement of the citizens and the system of Identity Cards issuance would be made stronger and fool proof. It may not become easy for any illegal trespasser to get his Identity Card issued so easily. Security Audit of National Identity Cards must be done on extremely urgent basis. Illegal immigrants and trespassers should be expelled completely and those helping them to get Identity cards illegally should be prosecuted. Pakistan?s internal security can also be achieved if following suggestions are considered.

Every Pakistani citizen should be given Transit Identity cards which the citizen may carry whenever he is moving out of the city of his residence. This must be an electronic card carrying a SIM (Subscriber Identification Module) that can be detected and monitored by the new security agency purposely set up to monitor the movement of the citizens with in the country. Any person found without this new Card and he is not the resident of that city must be interrogated and imprisoned if found guilty of violating the new law. This system alone can be extremely helpful not only in detecting the illegal movement but controlling the crimes in many parts of the country. We have a perfect tracking technology developed for vehicles which can be helpful in detecting the movement of individuals also.

I understand, it will surely be objected by Human Rights activists, but we can also introduce a bracelet, or a ring or even can implant such SIM inside human body of the citizens of this country to monitor their movement.

Right now Pakistan needs strict measures of security to ensure its own safety and security. We should stop seeking help from the world. It is needed that we should build our own strong system exemplary for others to follow.
